  • Wants privacy and secrecy
  • Changes how they speak
  • Uses hand signs with other kids
  • Possesses large amounts of money and/or materials
  • Breaks curfew
  • Never home
  • New friends
  • Failing grades
  • Disobeys or challenges authority figures
  • Peculiar drawings or language on school materials
